Two Ways Of Thinking
You either ignore everything else for the center or you think and include essential parts of everything in the center.
Some systems with diverse elements are heavily reliant on the center element — which not only holds the most power but also the essence of the system.
An example of this is the solar systems. But let’s talk about one such system — which is closer and more important to us:
Our rational thinking.
Our rational thinking too is a system that is center-focused. Take our political organizing for instance. All the power of diverse political elements is concentrated in a central body. Here the diverse elements theoretically act as the will while the center exercises power to execute that will.
Our earnest thought organizing too is center-focused. But by default, the central thought is the thought ‘me’. In other words, the thought of Self-Identification. Every other thought revolves around it. But since none of us live alone in this world, this central thought has complications. That’s why we have a constant buzz of thoughts — all diverse elements. What we then do to organize this is: we assign a vision to the ‘me’.
I am this. I want this. I see myself like this, I want to be this…we say.
And this new center holds all the power and essence of us.
Now, there are two ways after this:
We can deal with each diverse element by ignoring and suppressing them with all our might to shine the center brighter OR
We can deal with each diverse element by reasoning and arguments, include the essential characteristics in the center and make it tighter.
The first approach is of the idealists. The latter of philosophers.
Politically, the first approach is of dictators. The latter of democracies (theoretically).
